When you think of wallpaper you probably imagine your grandmothers living room from the 80’s with its peeled and damaged edges. You’re not alone! Wallpaper has a bad reputation for being tricky to apply and even trickier to remove. Many people assume the installation of wallpaper will be a headache and end up opting out and settling for paint. Well we are here to tell you that wallpaper is back and is better than ever!
Bedroom Designed by Hella Design Studio
Not only has the variety of styles of wallpaper grown vastly but the application process has become much easier and we'll be frank - less of a nightmare to install and remove. Many retailers such as Spoonflower, Wall Pops, Wayfair, Home Depot, and Lowes offer peel and stick wallpaper options. Peel and stick wallpaper is great for giving a face lift to spaces where you may not want wallpaper forever. If you’re planning on installing wallpaper in your child's bedroom, for example, peel and stick may be the best option. Your future self will thank you when when your kiddo grows out of their unicorn/dinosaur phase. This temporary wallpaper will easily peel off the walls when you are ready, meaning you won't be stuck (pun intended) scraping off that stubborn wallpaper that you once thought was a brilliant idea!
We love this peel and stick shiplap wallpaper from Wall Pop!
Now, if you’re the type of person who knows what you love and want to commit to a wallpaper, we have some more permanent options that you’re going to love! Murals Wallpaper, and Walls Alive are a couple of our FAVE retailers that house some pretty stunning wallpapers. These murals come shipped to the exact size of your wall, and are totally customizable for no extra charge.
We will never get over the “Chloe” wallpaper from Murals Wallpaper.
I know what you’re thinking. Yes, this is a wallpaper! We recently installed it at Dainty Flower Aesthetics in Calgary and it is GORG.
So, whether you have commitment issues or not, there is a wallpaper out there for all of us! Although the process of application is not a walk in the park, the end result is always worth it. And let’s get real... we both know you weren’t planning on installing it yourself anyways!
