When we first came to see this home, we thought to ourselves "Oh boy... we have A LOT of work to do." Thankfully, the owners were game to play around with the layout and essentially had no qualms about taking the entire Master Suite down to the studs and starting over.
Pairing classic white walls and baseboards with deep brown oak floors set the tone for a classic space. We added in large format porcelain tiles to the bathroom floor and shower walls. For a bit of luxury, we selected a chevron marble backsplash tile paired with gold hardware and light fixtures.
One of the biggest challenges of this space was the awkward bathroom layout. With a enormous (very 90’s) corner tub, separate vanities and tiny corner shower – this layout needed major help.
Add to that a crazy angled, vaulted ceiling and we had quite a project on our hands. We wanted to maintain the height and architectural uniqueness of the space, while also cleaning up the geometry.
We completely reworked the layout of the ensuite and created a large double vanity, walk-in shower and added a skylight. We opened up the walkway in to the master bedroom by opening up the existing closet and added in a new glass patio door. These layout changes made enormous improvements on the space.
